About ASSIST

ASSIST is a learning tool to assist you with the development of the knowledge and skills you require to find, use and evaluate information. Online tutorials similar to ASSIST have been used and adapted worldwide since its original development as "PILOT" by QUT in 1999.

This online tutorial consists of six related, but independent modules:

• Module 1: Determine your information needs
• Module 2: Identify and obtain information
• Module 3: Evaluate your information
• Module 4: Manage your information
• Module 5: Synthesise and communicate your information
• Module 6: Use your information appropriately
