Adv Dip of Arts (Graphic Design)

General Information
The Advanced Diploma of Arts (Graphic Design) is designed to develop the skills and knowledge which will enable students to pursue a career in the graphic design industry in a range of positions or to work as independent graphic artists in Australia or overseas.

The course consists of a generic core articulating to other art and design diplomas, with a number of compulsory modules and electives in photography, printmaking and drawing for illustration.   Subjects include design process, electronic imaging, reprographics and pre-press, finished art, technical illustration, commercial product design, typography, and drawing for illustration.

Paul Mah: Ascet Group
Paul studied the Diploma course in 1995 & 1996 and went on to do another 2 years of the Bachelor of Visual Arts (Graphic Design/Multimedia) and graduated with both qualifications. He worked at Peter Lambert Design in Ballarat before moving to The Ascet Group where he currently works on Logo Design, Staitonery, Brochures, TV Ads, Websites and Multimedia presentations.

Jeremy Ainsworth: Masterfoods
Jeremy studied the course and graduated in 2000. For the past 4 years he has been employed by Masterfoods Austraia (formerly Mars Confectionary) to design packaging and point of sale items for their vast range of products. He sees his artwork spread across Australia and the world on confectionary and other food products. He heads up a team of 5 full time designers at Masterfoods in Ballarat - one of which is former student Tim Prosser (2003).

Luke Keys: Zephyr Creative
Luke studied the course in 1994 and went on to the Bachelor of Visual Arts (Graphic Design/Mulitmedia). Since graduating, Luke has worked in London for 3 years for WIRE Design and now resides in Melbourne working freelance for companies such as Zephyr Creative and Transfer Press. Luke attributes the skills he attained in the course as the reason his transfer onto the industry of Graphic Design was smooth and relatively easy.
