Manish Gupta, Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional Practice), India

“I chose to study in Ballarat because of the excellent teaching quality rating and UB’s offering of the perfect course in IT. University has good IT infrastructure and service. During my stay of 3.5 years, I have found Ballarat to be a beautiful and peaceful place combined with low cost of living which is ideal for studies and comparatively easier to settle into while being close to Melbourne. University has excellent support for international students and a dedicated International Students Office which organises various events and trips in and out of Ballarat. Uni staff and people in general are really friendly and helpful in Ballarat. The university brings together cultures from all around the world and I have made a lot of good friends here, both local and international. I have had various jobs which have added to the whole wonderful experience at Ballarat. The UB experience has been fantastic that can provide many fruitful opportunities and I would highly recommend University of Ballarat to anyone wanting excellent education and a lifetime experience.”

"I enjoy the life in Ballarat where I never feel lost and lonely. Ballarat is a very clean, green and safe city. Here I walk along the streets, enjoy the fresh and clean atmosphere and feel safe. From the bottom of my heart, how friendly and kind people I have here are. I have Australian friends who are always available at anytime to support me and stand by me whenever there is something wrong or difficulty to me. I am happy and never feel isolated in a new country. I was impressed by the first time I came here. With free airport pick up, I was welcome friendly on arrival with Welcome pack and city tour. I was given cookies after a long flight and a tour around the city to get used to everything. I felt warm and moved from such a small thing."

The standards of teaching and support have been fabulous and the course has provided great opportunities for me to pursue my interests. The magnificent professors not only cared about my success as a student, but also advised and guided me to become an outstanding professional. Wilson Ekayapan, Bachelor of Information Technology (Professional Practice), Africa

"UB is my favourite university for a number of reasons. I was able to connect very quickly with the lecturers. They ensured I was equipped with the right information to make me successful in my course. This was evident as I graduated with distinction, top of my class! The small class sizes at UB means that the lecturers are able to provide quality education and better attention to every student. UB through international office offer extra help to international students on any situation they might have, problems with comprehension, language issues, Visas, social etc. I haven’t seen such setup anywhere. UB has also established strong ties with IT industry giants like IBM who provide industry experience to UB students, a great way to earn some extra cash! From Sports, Education, recreational activities, accommodation, transport, you name it, UB offers it all! Besides I like how cultural diverse UB is, I had fun interacting with students from various countries and cultures, India, China, Japan, Russia, Iran, Africa to name but a few. I will definitely recommend this university to my friends, family members and anyone. It’s great in size and technology!"

"“Before I came to this place, I was impressed of a wide range of course available and in each course, I can choose the unit or subjects that I feel most interesting. But it’s not until I came here, I realised it was a right choice because I can not only choose many specific unit that I like but also be supported from many people and all of them are very helpful. My mentor (the person who study in the same faculty with me but in second or third year) helped me a lot in my assignment when I feel confused or got stuck.

I chose to study at the University of Ballarat because of their broad availability of interesting courses. The UB campus is like a little international town. Heaps of different disciplines and cultures are coming together here. This gives UB a unique and relaxed vibe. One of the great things of UB and its staff is that they try to do everything in their power to help you accomplish your goals.
