Certificate II in Automotive Studies (pre-vocational)

The UB Tec pre-vocational Certificate II in Automotive Studies is best suited to students seeking a career in the automotive industry. It covers the competency to carry out research activities and perform generic mechanical tasks that are encountered in the automotive industry sector (light vehicle). Students are required to prepare for and plan tasks, carry out their planned tasks to industry standards and produce a technical report. Students who complete this course will be eligible to pursue an Australian Apprenticeship and Traineeship.

What will I study?

Use and maintain measuring equipment

Remove/replace suspension front springs

Clean a vehicle

Construct lighting circuits

Set up and use welding equipment

Remove/replace brake assemblies

Dismantle/assemble a four stroke single cylinder petrol engine

Use and maintain workplace tools/equipment

Participate in basic vehicle servicing operations

Remove/replace wheel and tyre assemblies

Remove/replace steering assembly

The minimum and maximum fees for this course include all material and student tuition fees. The fees are a guide only and are dependent on the total number of hours you enrol. A minimum fee applies to students who hold a Commonwealth Health Care Card.
