UB Tec pre-apprenticeship Certificate II in Engineering Studies provides an innovative ‘hands-on’, project-based program involving the development of traditional trade skills such as metal machining, fabrication and the use of a diverse range of tools and cutting edge engineering technologies. These skills will enhance entry-level employment prospects, including Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships.

 

What will I study?

Certificate II in Engineering Studies units*

Develop an individual career plan for the engineering industry

Use computers for engineering related work activities

Apply electrotechnology principles in an engineering work environment

Use power tools/hand held operations

Apply basic fabrication techniques

Perform basic machining processes

Use basic engineering concepts to plan the manufacture of engineering components

Produce basic engineering sketches and drawings

Use hand tools

Handle engineering materials

Produce basic engineering components and products using fabrication and machining

Apply principles of OHS in the work environment

Perform basic welding and thermal cutting processes to fabricate engineering structures

Perform basic computational principles in engineering work activities

The minimum and maximum fees for this course include all material and student tuition fees. The fees are a guide only and are dependent on the total number of hours you enrol. A minimum fee applies to students who hold a Commonwealth Health Care Card.
