The course provides students with the basic skills associated with hairdressing, such as preparing clients for salon services

Certificate II and III in Hairdressing

(WRH20109 and WRH30109)

UB Tec Certificate II in Hairdressing provides students with the basic skills associated with hairdressing, such as preparing clients for salon services. Hairdressing activities are ‘hands–on’ and include project-based tasks. Students will develop skills to enhance entry–level employment prospects, including Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships.

UB Tec Certificate III in Hairdressing (Partial Completion) provides students with the basic skills associated with hairdressing, such as applying hair design to clients. This is a pathway program for students who have completed a Certificate II in Hairdressing

What will I study?

Certificate II in Hairdressing with units from Certificate III in Hairdressing*

Prepare clients for salon services

Dry hair to shape

Maintain tools and equipment

Sell products and services

Maintain and organise work areas

Communicate in the workplace

Apply safe work practices

Work effectively in a retail environment

Follow personal health and safety routines at work

Assist colleagues providing multiple salon services as a team member

Perform head, neck and shoulder massage

Develop hairdressing industry knowledge

Apply single, two and three strand braiding techniques

Apply temporary hair colour and remove residual colour products

Conduct financial transactions

Merchandise products

Certificate III in Hairdressing (partial completion)*

Color and lighten hair

Apply the principles of hairdressing science

Design and apply long hair design finishes

Merchandise products

Create a display

Design and apply short to medium–length hair design finishes

Design and perform full and partial highlighting techniques

The minimum and maximum fees for this course include all material and student tuition fees. The fees are a guide only and are dependent on the total number of hours you enrol. A minimum fee applies to students who hold a Commonwealth Health Care Card.
